Le LPCN participe au 22ème congrès de l’ESCOP

La 22ème édition de the European Society for Cognitive Psychology (ESCoP) se déroulera à l’Université de Lille du 29 août au 1er septembre 2022.

Cet événement international vise à promouvoir la recherche scientifique dans le domaine de la psychologie cognitive. Depuis sa création en 1985, la conférence ESCoP est organisée tous les deux ans dans différentes universités ou unités de recherche européennes.

Trois membres du LPCN participeront à cette édition.

Marie Anquetil est doctorante au LPCN, elle prépare une thèse en Psychologie sur la thématique du dépistage précoce des troubles neurodéveloppementaux, sous la direction de Sandrine Rossi (PR, LPCN) et de Nadège Roche-Labarbe (MC HDR, COMETE, université de Caen Normandie).

Elle présentera un poster sur les données du projet MEDiATE.

Abstract :

We aim at identifying early markers of atypical development of attention through tactile sensory processing, we collected behavioral data on 51 children aged between 4 and 5 years 11 months. They completed an adapted version of the Child Attention Network Task (ANT) – a measure of attention – and the Stroop and Head-Toes-Knees-Shoulders tasks, measures of inhibition. Parents completed Dunn’s Sensory Profile and the BRIEF-P questionnaire (executive functions in context). Results show that attention performance is associated with inhibition performance and that children who have atypical scores of executive functions in context also have atypical tactile sensory processing. In a follow-up study, we are recording electroencephalography of children between 4 and 5 years old, during the Child-ANT and a tactile perception task, to directly compare tactile and attention performance at the brain level. Preliminary data show neural habituation to tactile stimuli and modulation of cerebral amplitudes in the Child-ANT incongruent condition.

Sandrine Rossi est professeure au LPCN, elle s’intéresse, notamment, au développement cognitif de la pensée chez l’humain, au processus d’autorégulation et à la métacognition.

Fabien Bitu est doctorant au LPCN, il prépare une thèse en Psychologie intitulée « Les bénéfices de l’interface tactile numérique sur les capacités cognitives : comment la tablette tactile numérique, au travers de la créativité, peut-elle améliorer les fonctions exécutives d’enfants d’âge scolaire ? », sous la direction de Michèle Molina (PR, LPCN) et Béatrice Galinon-Melenec (PR, IDEES, Le Havre Normandie Université).

Il réalisera une présentation orale intitulée : « Bitu, F., Galinon-Melenec, B., & Molina, M. Sensory afferences in children’s creativity.  » 

Abstract :

Previous empirical studies revealed links between creativity and sensorimotor components. This research was aimed at evaluating whether sensory afferences could modulate originality in drawings. Using finger on tablet enhances proprioceptive information, while using a stylus involves a proprioceptive loss. Sixty-nine children from 1st to 8th grades were asked to produce a man who exists and a man who doesn’t exist with finger or stylus on tablet and with pen on paper. Drawings were assessed with an originality scale comparing original to unoriginal drawings. Drawing with finger was expected to favor originality compared to pen and paper, which was confirmed by the results. However, while drawing with stylus was expected to impair originality in drawings, it had no effect for the young children and enhanced older children’s originality in comparison to pen and paper. This result is discussed with an embodied perspective of creativity relying on sensorimotor prediction process.
